The ITIN number  it is a tax number granted by the IRS. It is a nine-digit number that always starts with the number 9.

The IRS issues ITIN numbers to people who require an identification number for tax purposes in the United States but do not have or are not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number and it is issued regardless of immigration status.
